Product Overview
Kit Contains the following items *Hot vulcanizing cement *Cover Compound *Insulation Compound *Tie Gum/Bonder Rubber Strips
This kit is made specifically for the hot vulcanization of fire-resistant conveyor belts. Thermal power facilities, coal handling plants, chemical and fertilizer factories, etc. are the principal uses for FR-grade conveyor belts. These conveyor belts carry hot items that can catch fire if they come into contact with flammable materials. These kinds of conveyor belts are used to prevent premature belt failure. To ensure the lifespan of the bond as well as the safety of the jointers, repair and maintenance on these demand certain solutions and tools. The finest option currently available on the market is this hot vulcanization kit for jointing and repairing fire-resistant conveyor belts.

1) At the time of step cutting, use a HUCK-CHUK machine/pincer, 10 inches.
2) Always buff the rubberized exposed fabric with a hand grinder, not a grinding machine.
3) At the time of step cutting & after step cutting, the opened fabric surface should be kept clean by covering it with a polythene sheet.
4) After completion of the step cut, the open fabric surface should be cleaned with a high-speed air blower. And use adhesive primer to clean the buffed area of the steps.
5) After applying Adhesive Primer, use one coat of Black Cement ST 6000 and let it dry completely (for the test, use a fingernail to scratch it). After that, apply the second coat and let it dry for 10 minutes. Then please re-check the proper setting and steps properly by the kiss method of each step and fix nails on both end sides at one foot away from the last step on both end sides.
6) Now use Insulation Compound on both ends of the splice area channel portion and use a roller to remove air from the center to outward on both sides (if you see an air pocket anywhere on the surface, please puncture it with a pointer probe and remove the air).
7) Apply cover compound (as per desired top & bottom thickness) for the top channel given in the splice kit, extending it by up to approximately 50 mm on the channel cover.
8) After matching both ends, fill the bottom channel portion with the bottom channel cover available in the kit.
9) Apply the assembled top cover (given in the splice kit) to the top cover channel. Do not use any additional insulation compound.
10) The channel portion is to be covered by any paper.
11) Try to use a single platen vulcanizing machine if available.
12) Cure the splice area for 45 minutes at 150°C. Count the time after the temperature reaches 150°C.
13) Pressure to be applied: 8 to 10 kg/cm2.
14) Initially, start with 4 kg/cm2 pressure. When the temperature reaches 100°C,. Increase the pressure up to 6 kg/cm2. At 120°C, apply 8 to 10 kg/cm2 of pressure.
15) At the time of ply cutting, care should be taken so that the next ply is not affected.
16) Use additional skim gum strips at the edges of the splice to achieve better consolidation.
This hot vulcanization kit is specifically used in manufacturing units where conveyor belts of FR grades are used; for other grades such as M-24 and SHR, Hot Vulcanizing Kit and Hot Rubber Bonding Kit can be used. For the steel cord conveyor belt, this Hot splicing equipment is used.
A hot vulcanization kit is a set of tools and materials specifically designed for the jointing and repairing of fire-resistant conveyor belts through the hot vulcanization process.
Fire-resistant (FR-grade) conveyor belts are commonly used in thermal power facilities, coal handling plants, chemical and fertilizer factories, and other environments where conveyor belts carry hot items that could ignite if they come into contact with flammable materials.
Hot vulcanization creates a strong, seamless bond between the belt and the repair material, ensuring the longevity of the bond and the safety of the jointers. This helps to prevent premature belt failure.
This hot vulcanization kit is specifically designed for FR-grade conveyor belts. For other grades, such as M-24 and SHR, other types of vulcanizing kits, such as the Hot Rubber Bonding Kit, should be used.
Yes, the hot splicing equipment in the kit can be used for steel cord conveyor belts.
The key steps include step cutting, buffing the rubberized exposed fabric, cleaning the opened fabric surface, applying adhesive primer and black cement, fixing nails, using insulation compound, applying cover compound, assembling the top cover, curing the splice area, and applying pressure.
The splice area should be cured for 45 minutes at 150°C, counting the time after the temperature reaches 150°C.
Start with 4 kg/cm2 pressure. When the temperature reaches 100° C, increase the pressure up to 6 kg/cm2. At 120°C, apply 8 to 10 kg/cm2 of pressure.
Yes, specific tools such as the HUCK-CHUK machine/pincer, hand grinder, high-speed air blower, roller, and single platen vulcanizing machine are required for the hot vulcanization process.
Use additional skim gum strips at the edges of the splice to achieve better consolidation.
